No foolin', Iris Murdoch was a great writer. Though this isn't a story about beheadings (at least not yet), it is a wonderful example of great dialogue. A good friend of mine suggested I work on my dialogue. I knew I needed to...so, web search for best novels with good dialogue. Since I just saw "Iris" the movie last week (great movie, btw), I went with the author who was portrayed in the movie. Good choice. I'm halfway done. Next up on my reading break, I have a couple of books from two of my wp buddies.
Break time for Ty. Since I have the whole book arranged into chapters, I've decided to stop and smell the pages. Other pages than my own. There is nothing like the smell of a Kindle in the morning. I need a book with well written dialogue. I'm thinking of an Iris Murdoch book, but will take recommendations. I have been writing my dialogue with very few "he said, she said". Even I get lost in my dialogue. I get lost sometimes trying to figure out which toon is talking. I need help. W.P. says, "So, why not take a break and read a book, Ty?" "Well, thank you for the suggestion W.P., I think I will follow your advice." "Best you do, you sucks at dialogue." "Really? I say, isn't that a bit too harsh?" "Not really, honesty is never harsh, it is just honesty." "Hmm, it still hurt." "It's like discipline when you are a child. I gave you an honest assessment in love and it hurt. But, you will change your behavior, right?" "I don't know, I haven't yet." "Give it time, Ty. Meet me here in a week." sigh "OK."
Faith over fear! Unwavering faith even through the fires of life.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
