This past eleven days of vacation have been super effective (care of Pokemon). I’ve written a bit over 20k words. I forget whose writing advice I am following. The advice was to build the story ‘brick by brick’. This method helps me to just write. I don’t worry whether the brick will fit into the final draft. I only focus on discovering the brick and how it either builds a characters, or moves the story forward. Maybe I am using Ann Lamott’s ‘Bird by Bird’ advice?
Well, back to work today. It’s been a great run. I’m at a total word count of 43k. Almost half way there. Happy New Year!
