Berkleemusic’s online course: Creative Writing: Finding your voice, was a great way to find a new form of creative expression. I had spent the previous 4 years trying to find my way of expression in songwriting. I had to be honest with myself and conclude that I was not a good music writer. I didn’t even enjoy songwriting anymore. However, I realized that writing lyrics was like breathing. I belong to a writer’s group, and decided I would try prose. The new BerkleeMusic course came available and I registered. Caroline Harvey was a fantastic teacher and the course was a great experience. I discovered that though I wasn’t a literary genius, I could write compelling material. When I graduated in July 2012 I began work on what I hope is my first novel (whether it gets published or not).
